25 Worst Movies of All Time?

GQ has picked the 25 worst films ever made. Here's the list and my own comments. Movies I have seen are in bold. How many have YOU seen?

#25 Smokey and the Bandit 1977 - I haven't seen this.
#24 Purple Rain 1984 - I loved this movie!! Loved the music! Loved Prince!!
#23 The Godfather: Part III 1990 - Haven't seen ANY of the Godfather movies.
#22 Rocky III 1982 - If I have seen this, I don't remember.
#21 Perfect 1985 - Another one I haven't seen. (Probably because I am definitely NOT a Travolta fan.)
#20 Boxing Helena 1993 - Still another I haven't made time to see.
#19 Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?1966 - OK, this is getting repetitive.
#18 Black and White 2000 - OK, THIS one I HAVE seen. Only because Elijah Wood was in it. He kisses Brooke Shields. And THAT I had to see. But it is a BAD BAD movie. Yep. Highly NOT recommended.
#17 Point Break 1991 - [Looks indignant] I suppose I should be thankful that the previous 8 movies weren't Keanu's. I didn't like PB when I saw it in the early 90's. But I like it now. LOL
#16 Son of Ali Baba 1952 - Nope. Another one I don't ever have to watch.
#15 Vanilla Sky 2001 - Had no interest in this one.
#14 Il Postino 1994 - OK, I am beginning to sound like a broken record.
#13 When a Man Loves a Woman 1994 - Nope. Not this one either.
#12 Legend 1985 - No, can you believe I haven't taken in this flick?
#11 When Time Ran Out 1980 - Sigh. No again.
#10 Flash Gordon 1980 - I am SO not a Sci-fi fan.
#9 Jet Pilot 1957 - Don't think I have EVER seen any John Wayne movie, let alone his apparent worst film.
#8 Cocktail 1988 - I have seen this one. And I didn't like it. And please notice this gives Tom Cruise TWO movies on the worst list. And how many are Keanu's so far?? Hmmm?
#7 Raw Deal 1986 - Arnold Schwarzenegger. Nuff said.
#6 Hot Dog...The Movie 1984 - Um. No.
#5 Red Dawn 1984 - Oh man! I loved this movie!! I did! Can it really be the 5th worst movie of all time? (And Patrick Swayze's second one on the list, please note. lol)
#4 The Poseidon Adventure 1972 - No. I was barely alive.
#3 New Jack City 1991 - Nope again.
#2 American Gigolo 1980 - LOL I was too young to see this in 1980 and never had any interest in Gere til, um, lately. LOL
#1 Road House 1989- Oooh, Swayze's THIRD movie on the list! LOL I have seen this one. And I hated it.

Well, I cannot believe that Gigli isn't on this list. LOL I think that's the worse movie I have ever seen. (Although Black and White does come close. I didn't watch all of that one though.) And Surviving Christmas is pretty bad as well.

Okay, Point Break, Road House, Cocktail, Rocky III and Red Dawn aren't exactly high cinema but I hardly think they deserve to be in the top losers category! They're enjoyable in their own cheesy way. They are still being played on cable for instance. What about Catwoman (which I haven't seen but was widely held to be awful)? I'm sure there are many more awful movies I can't think of right now.

P.S. Boxing Helena was the movie that practically bankrupted Kim Basinger (she had to pay 8 million dollars to avoid being in this movie). Some obsessed doctor chops the arms and legs off the object of his affection and makes her his prisoner. Yuk. Didn't watch it but it was in the news a lot.

Hi Lisa, Edwise here. You actually didn't mention the actual title of the list: the 25 *best* bad movies of all time. In other words, these aren't the absolute worst, but rather those bad movies you get a sort of perverse pleasure in watching, so-bad-they're-good. Given that, I have to wonder -- where the heck is Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death?!? *hehe*

I don't know about GQ, or the worst of movies, I'm just happy to find time to see a movie. I particularly like those free movie screenings that I'm finding a few more promo efforts in recent times, and especially when they award bloggers for watching a movie for free.

Finally - my October reading list! Only 6 books, but one of them is the longest book I've ever read. And I've been working my way through another of Diana Gabaldon's books on audio, though I didn't finish that yet. Read on.... Twilight (2008)

Notification arrived that a review of Twilight should have appeared in this space before now (Sorry, C!), so here is my hurried-off-the-cuff-5-hours-of-sleep replica of a real review. The Twilight series of books first came to my attention by way of a good friend. We made a trade-off bargain. I'd read Twilight and she'd read a book I'd been begging HER to read. I liked the vampire novel enough to read the two sequels. When the fourth book was published, I re-read the first three in order to read the fourth. (I couldn't remember them well enough to go on to the sequel without a re-read.) I purposely didn't re-read Twilight before the movie, so as to avoid the book-movie comparison game that fans often must play. Then again, I'm not a typical Twilight fan, as Bella gets on my last nerve. To make matters worse, I am on Team Jacob . (I know - horrors!)
